Tina Klein
With 24 years in public safety, Tina started at South Sound 911 as a Records Specialist and spent five years as a Supervisor before moving into management in 2019. After nearly seven years of providing strategic direction, she was appointed Records Director in February 2026.
Today, Tina leads the Records Division as Records Director and also serves as the agency’s Terminal Agency Coordinator and Public Records Officer. As Records Director, she oversees a team of 33 across the Records, Warrant, and Disclosure units, guiding the division’s day-to-day operations. In addition, as Terminal Agency Coordinator, she helps maintain agency-wide compliance for an organization of 257 employees and over 100 vendors. Her work supports both the public and law enforcement through services such as CPL processing, fingerprinting, warrant and order entries, fugitive transports, and public records requests.
Tina holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Central Washington University and is a Certified Public Records Officer through the Washington Association of Public Records Officers. Before her public safety career, she worked as a Senior Graphic Designer, a background that shapes her thoughtful, detail-oriented leadership style.
Tina lives in Pierce County and is dedicated to serving the community she calls home. Outside of work, Tina takes great joy in being a mom to her daughter, Karly, who lives and works in Seattle.
