Deann Baumann
With 30 years of dedicated service in public safety, Deann began her career as a dispatcher for the City of Sumner before transitioning to LESA/South Sound 911 in 1998. Over the years, she advanced from dispatcher to supervisor and in 2018, stepped into management.
Before entering public safety, Deann spent six years in the accounting field, building a strong foundation in business and operations. She studied Business Administration with a focus in accounting and completed NENA’s Center Manager Certification Program.
Today, Deann oversees law, fire, and EMS operations, managing a team of approximately 180 employees. Born and raised in Pierce County, she has deep ties to the community she serves.
Outside of work, Deann is a proud mom to two adult children, Amber and Jacob, and an even prouder grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren, Peyton, Asher, and Jaxon, who keep life fun and full of meaning.
