Inspection of Criminal History Record

Inspection of Records by Fingerprint

Per RCW 10.97.080, individuals may request to review local criminal history records by fingerprint1 by completing a Request for Inspection of Records form and being fingerprinted. Please call 253-287-4900 (option 8) to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting. A state-issued identification is needed for this service.

For a fingerprint-based search, when identity is confirmed, South Sound 911 will mail you a postcard with a name and phone number to call to make an appointment to have your record reviewed. A copy of the record(s) will be provided. You will again need to provide state-issued identification.

Inspection of Records by Name

To complete an inspection of records by name, please complete the Local Criminal History Check form and mail it with a copy of your valid I.D. and fee to: South Sound 911 Records; 945 Tacoma Ave S.; Tacoma WA 98402. The fee must be paid by cashier’s check or money order payable to South Sound 911 (no personal checks, please). A copy of the record(s) will be mailed to the address provided on the request form.
