Since 2013, South Sound 911’s executive director has reported to two governing boards: The Policy Board and the Operations Board. However, in 2019, the agency began transitioning from an interlocal administrative agency to a Public Development Authority. During the transition, South Sound 911 will report to the new Board of Directors and the outgoing Policy Board and Operations Board.
The Policy Board is comprised of 10 elected officials who collectively provide legislative and policy direction for the agency. The Policy Board will end its series of monthly meetings in November 2019.
The 13-member Operations Board is comprised of partner agency police and fire chiefs who provide operational oversight and direction. The Operations Board ended its series of monthly meetings in September 2019.
