Scott Hamel, ENP
Scott Hamel has nearly 25 years of public safety communications experience. As South Sound 911’s Communications Center Director, he oversees Law Enforcement Communications, the agency’s primary public safety answering point (PSAP).
As he worked his way up through the ranks, Scott gained a valuable understanding of every operational role within the 911 communications center. He’s handled 911 and non-emergency calls, dispatched, and also trained and supervised employees.
Scott earned an associate’s degree from Pierce College and has certification as a National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Emergency Number Professional (ENP). He also completed NENA’s Center Manager Certification Program.
Scott was born and raised in Puyallup where he and his wife, Chandra, continue to live and raise their daughter and two sons.
